Mediastilo runs on credits. Every AI action, analyzing your brand, scoring source material, generating a draft, spends a small number of credits. Your plan gives you a monthly allotment, and you can top up any time.
How credits work
- Your plan includes a set number of credits per month.
- Each AI action costs a fixed number of credits (see the table below).
- Unused credits may roll over up to your plan's cap (varies by plan).
- You can buy top-ups for one-off boosts that don't expire with the month.

Reading linked documents
Every other action costs a flat amount. Reading a document can't: a one-page decision and a 200-page annex are not the same job. So PDFs are metered — charged on what the document actually took to read, roughly one credit per four pages, and never more than 30 credits for a single document, whatever its size.
Three things keep this from ever surprising you:
- A PDF is only read for a story that passed your alignment threshold, one you were about to write from. Nothing the crawler merely found costs a credit.
- Every plan has a page ceiling (Free has none at all; it rises with the plan). A document above it isn't read, isn't charged, and is declared as a gap on the draft instead.
- If the read fails, you're refunded. We sell the transcript, not the attempt.
DOCX and XLSX cost nothing. They're read exactly, without a model — and a spreadsheet transcribed by an AI is precisely the kind of "nearly right" figure this whole feature exists to prevent.
And because documents are stored by their address, the same council decision linked from three articles is read — and billed — once.
Grounding a fact in Google Search
Grounding runs a live Google Search and writes back a short, cited answer the draft can quote. Like reading a document, its cost can't be flat: one question may take a single search, another several. So it's metered — roughly one credit for every eight searches, and never more than two credits for a single question.
The same discipline applies as for documents:
- You only pay for a citation, never an attempt. If the model answers without searching — from its own memory rather than the live web — that's exactly the unsourced guess grounding exists to prevent. It's refunded in full and recorded as a declared gap on the draft, not written in as fact.
- Grounding is only available on plans that include it, and each brand has a monthly search budget you can lower (never raise above the plan's) in Settings.
- It's always something you switched on: a button in the editor, a question you asked the draft assistant, or the two per-brand pipeline toggles (Ground with Google, Fill gaps with Google), which are off by default because each run spends credits.
Plans
Public pricing isn't listed here while sign-ups are paused. Your current plan and usage are always visible in Settings → Billing. Plan limits:

Higher plans also unlock features such as draft regeneration, custom brand instructions, scrape-config proposals, webhooks, API access (Agency and Enterprise), and longer history/analytics windows. For the authoritative, current list of limits and features per plan, see the Plans page in the app.
Going over your allotment
Once you run out of monthly credits, generation pauses until you buy a top-up or your next cycle begins, on every plan, Enterprise included. There is no overage billing and no surprise invoice: an account can never spend past what it has. Top-ups don't expire with the month, so buying one is the quickest way to keep working.
Managing your subscription
From Settings → Billing you can:
- Upgrade to a higher plan at any time.
- Buy top-ups.
- Manage Subscription: opens the secure billing portal where you can update your card, view and download invoices and receipts, change or cancel your plan, and see your billing history.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, your account is marked past due while the charge is retried over about a week. Everything keeps working during that grace period, update your card via Manage Subscription to clear it. If the retries don't succeed, the account is restricted to read-only: you can still sign in, read and export your work, and update your card, but new generation is paused until a payment goes through. Keeping a valid card on file avoids the interruption.
