What your endpoint receives
- Title and bodyThe body in Markdown, exactly as your editor approved it.
- Status and timeWhether to publish now, and when, if the story is scheduled.
- ImagesThe featured image and every image in the story, in order, each with alt text, caption, credit and licence. The links stay valid for seven days.
- Created or updatedA republished story says so, and carries the id your system gave it last time.
- A signatureEvery request is signed with HMAC-SHA256 using a secret only you and Mediastilo know.
- Your id backReply with your record’s id and URL, and Mediastilo keeps them for the next update.

Any HTTPS endpoint that accepts a POST.

We send a test
Mediastilo sends a ping, and the connection is saved only when your endpoint accepts it.

Check the signature
Compare the X-Mediastilo-Signature header with your own HMAC of the body, and you know the request came from us.

What if our endpoint is down?
The publish is reported as failed in Mediastilo, with the reason, so your editor can try again once your system is back.
Why is the body in Markdown?
It is the most portable form: any system can turn it into its own HTML or blocks, and nothing is lost on the way.
Can we get HTML instead?
Not today. Most receiving systems convert Markdown in a line of code; tell us if yours cannot.
